The Katsina State Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Social Development, Sani Danlami, has called on the Katsina State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), to give adequate coverage to sports activities in the state.
Sani Danlami, made the disclosure when he paid a familiarization visit to the office he newly approved for SWAN at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Sunday evening, shortly after Katsina United FC defeated Dakada FC of Akwa Ibom 2-0 in the ongoing 2020/2021 NPFL competition.
Danlami assured them that he is available and ready to work with them to ensure that their activities in the state are carried out smoothly.
The SWAN Chairman, Katsina State Chapter, Nasiru Gide, in his remark, thanked Honourable Danlami for approving the office for SWAN and also for making out time to stop over at the office.
Gide assured the commissioner that the SWAN in the state will put hands together to ensure that sports activities foster in the state.
He further appealed to the sports commissioner to assist the office with equipment to enable them to carry out their activities effectively.
Similarly, Hon Danlami, who said he was elated by the performance of the Katsina United FC, applauded the management and players of the club for their commitment and corporation in the ongoing NPFL. He prayed for more wins and God’s continual guidance for the club.
He noted that playing 7 games without losing any is a clear testimony of the level of improvement in the team.
According to Danlami, katsina united is among the best club in the country that pays players emoluments, match bonuses regularly and in due times.
He commended Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s efforts towards sports development in the state and equally thanked the people of the state for their prayers and unflinching support towards the development of the club.
