17 LGAs from Katsina, Jigawa calls for creation of Bayajidda State
A group of people under the auspice of Movement For The Creation Of Bayajidda State have made a submission before the Senate Ad-hoc Committee and the House of Representatives Special Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution at the State House at Kaduna seeking for the creation of Bayajidda State.
The submission was presented before the joint committee by Honorable Lawal Ado Daura, the group’s Chairman.
The former lawmaker also told Katsina Post that seventeen Local Government Areas in Katsina and Jigawa States are behind the move.
He listed the 12 LGAs in Katsina North Senatorial zone comprising of Daura, Sandamu, Mai’adua, Zango, Baure, Kankia, Ingawa, Kusada, Mani, Bindawa, Mashi and Dutsi LGAs as well as 5 LGAs in Jigawa State comprising of Kazaure, Roni, Gwuiwa, ‘Yankwashi and Babura LGAs.
He added that their proposed Bayajidda State has an estimated population of over 4m people and covers over 17’ square meters.
