As the Holy Month of Ramadan ends; Muslims are expected to sustain the lessons learnt to reap the mercy of the Almighty.

In view of this, Muslims are advised to utilize the Eid-Fitr period in worshipping the Almighty through various means as enshrined in the religion of Islam.

It is a known fact that on the first day of Shawwal, Musims the world over came out en mass and proceed to eid prayer ground to observe two raka’ats of eid prayer.

This Islamic ritual marks the end of Ramadan fast and serve as a way of showing gratitude to the Almighty for the successful completion of Ramadan fast.

After the edil prayers Muslims dressed in a beautiful attires intensify effort in visiting their relatives, friends and neighbors among others.

This is in addition to preparing special meals and sharing same among the Muslims and sometimes to non-Muslim neighbors and friends.

The Islamic tradition had in a great measure being promoting unity, understand and peaceful co-existance in society which the symbol of Islam.

BelowBare 11 beautiful sunnahs of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on Eid-ul-fitr day:

1. Take your Ritual bath.

2. Eat before going to Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr Prayers).

3. Wear your best cloth (preferably new & if possible white, but any colour is allowed but must not contain pictures).

4. Use perfume (Male only).

5. Supplicate on your way to Eid & on your way back home;

Wa Lillahil Hamd.

6. No Naffilah prayer on Eid ground.

7. Preferably walk to Eid, but it is not forbidden to drive, particularly if the Eid ground is far and you have the elderly, sick, women & children.

8. Change road or route when going back home.

9. Spread greetings (taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum).

10. Perform two Raka’at when you are back from Eid (i.e at home).

11.Visitation to friends, families, neighbours, e.t.c
