Katsina gov’t to obey Supreme Court ruling on sacked LGs officials
Katsina state government said it would comply with the decision of the Supreme Court asking it to pay unlawful dissolved elected PDP Councils, Katsina Beat reports.
The confirmation was made by the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Ahmad El Marzuq to newsmen.
He said the state government has no reason to grumble or disrespect the unanimous decision, stressing that the ruling was simple and straightforward.
According to El Marzuq the government has begun the process of settling the entitlements to those involved, noting that 80%, success has been recorded.
Meanwhile, the State PDP Chairman,Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, has hailed the unanimous ruling, stressing that it is a victory for not only the parties involved but democracy at large.
Majigiri said the ruling would serve as a deterrent to state governors not to illegally dissolve constitutionally elected Local councils.
