Katsina gov’t expresses concern over fake IDPs living in ATC football field
The Katsina state government said it will no longer tolerate women and children sleeping in the Sir Usman Nagoggo College of Arabic and Islamic studies (ATC) field in the name of being internally displaced persons, Katsina Beats reports.
Commissioner of sports and social development, Sani Aliyu Dan Lami made this known while launching the distribution of food items to over three hundred women in the state.
Danlami said most of the woman sleeping in ATC round about are not internally displaced persons but beggers from areas with no record of violence such as Mani, Ingawa Rimi, Charanchi, while some are from neighboring Niger Republic.
He charged them after receiving the food assistance to go back to their areas because government will not tolerate them sleeping in such places.
Some of the beneficiaries from Mani, Ingawa, Rimi expressed gratitude over the gesture and pledged for judicious utilisation.
