Just In: DSS reportedly invite Dr Bugaje for questioning over comment on insecurity
Men of the State Security Service, SSS have reportedly invited Katsina-born politician and public commentator, Dr Usman Bugaje over comments he made on National Security.
The Katsina-born former member House of Representatives member was however released after after spending eight hours with the security agents.
This was disclosed in a tweet by an activist based in Abuja, Dr Mairo Mandara (@DrMairoMandara).
“We are patiently waiting for the bail terms of Dr Usman Bugaje who was invited by SSS since 10am today for speaking at an AIT Programme where he critised govt on national security @YerwaExpress @daily_trust @LeadershipNGA @AIT_Online @channelstv @ArewaMeToo @ArewaHistory”, Dr Mairo Mandara tweeted at exactly 4:18pm today, Wednesday, 28th April, 2021.
But a little while after, Dr Mandara spoke with some newsmen and confirmed his release.
“He went to acknowledge their invitation around 10: 00 am. They later released him on bail around 5 pm in the evening, a few minutes after I posted the story of his arrest on social media,” she said.
Recently, Dr Bugaje has been very critic to the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari over surge in insecurity in the country.
Dr. Bugaje had served as a Political Adviser to the then Vice President Atiku Abubakar, under the Obasanjo administration.
He has over the years become an ardent critic of the present administration from northern Nigeria.
