Katsina state Commissioner of education, Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanci has gave reasons on why the state government deploy dogs to provide security in schools across the state.
The commissioner stated this today in an interview with blueinknews in Katsina.
He added that the dogs were provided to raise alarm whenever there was any attempt to breach security in the schools.
The commissioner noted that the dogs were normal local dogs, adding that no money was spent on acquiring them.
He alleged that dogs were gifted with a special talent where they can smell any strange movement from 25 kilometres.
“No funds will be used in acquiring these dogs. Already some schools have them”.
Charanci further disclosed that the dogs will be provided in 56 secondary and tertiary institutions across the state.
He said additional security to be provided in these schools include perimeter fencing, provision of security lights, five armed security personnel each and security towers.
The commissioner also call for intensify prayers for God to continue to protect these schools and the state at large.
