Fire Outbreak Destroys Semi Urban Water Supply Station In Katsina
S. A. to Governor Masari on Urban and Semi urban Water Supply inspects Yankara Semi Urban Water supply vandalize by unpatriotic people.
The Special Adviser on Urban and Semi Urban Water Supply Alhaji Abdu Habu Dankum, has inspected the Yankara Semi Urban Water Supply Scheme vandalized by some unpatriotic people in the area.
The Special Adviser Alhaji Abdu Habu said the visit was meant to ascertain the level of damage made at the scheme with a view to identifying ways of how Government could intervene.
Alhaji Abdu Habu Dankum stated that the submersible pumps stationed at the place were stolen; a situation which make the people to face shortage of Water supply.
Other facilities stolen include the Transformer provided at the place and the Generator Mikano Model.
The Special Adviser noted that a fire outbreak which occurred at the area has also burnt some properties at the Scheme.
Alhaji Abdu Habu Dankum who expressed concern over the situation assured that Government would intervene in reviving the Scheme for the benefit of people of the area.
He used the opportunity to call on people of the State not to relent in protecting projects put in place for them by the government against vandalization.
In a remark, the Director Semi Urban Water project of the Department Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmad said seventeen submersible Pumps were stolen at the Scheme.
Other speakers during the visit include the Village Head of Yankara Alhaji Abba Adamu Zanguna and the Secretary of Yankara Development Forum who called for Government intervention in reviving the Scheme.
They assured to protect the project against vandalization upon its rehabilitation.
