Police Rescue 30 Victims Of Human Trafficking In Katsina

Police in Katsina State have rescued 30 human traffickers in Katsina.

The rescued victims comprising of 12 males and 18 females were rescued along Kongolam border while trying to cross the Niger Republic to Libya.

The Police Spokesman, SP Gambo Isah in a press briefing held at the police headquarters, Katsina on Wednesday explained that four (4) suspected rapists along with 15 suspected bandits, their informants, fraudsters, Indian hemp dealer, and impersonator terrorising Katsina State have also been arrested.

Recall that on March 16th, 2021, two suspects were arrested in connection with Human Trafficking by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Katsina State.

Identified as Fatima Abdullahi, a Female of 35 years of age, and Amadu Abdullahi, a Male of 32 years of age all of Lagos State, their arrest was made following an intelligence report received by the command.

In the process of arresting the suspects on Match 6th 2021, at Charanchi Patrol Base, one of the hinterland patrol bases, eighteen (18) victims have been rescued.

The Newly deployed Comptroller of the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Abdurrazaq Mu’azu stated this in a press briefing held at the command headquarters, Katsina.

He told reporters that all the traffickers and their victims comprising twelve females and eight males, aged between three to 45 years, are from Edo, Osun, Lagos, and the Delta States respectively.
