Katsina gov’t to reintroduce tax, levy on residents, animals
Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari is planning to reintroduce on adult residents and levy on animals in Katsina communities.
To this end, the government constituted a committee headed by the Katsina State Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Faruq Jobe to go round the state to sensitize the general public on the issue.
The Committee tagged Committee for sensitization of the general public on re-introduction of Community development levy and Cattle Tax have visited Funtua Zone on Tuesday.
During the visit, the Committee visited Sabuwa, Dandume, Faskari, Funtua, Bakori and Danja Local Government areas.
In all the places visited, the Committee sensitize with the people to pay tax as and when due.
The Chairman of the Committee, farouq Jobe said re-introduction of Community development levy and Cattle Tax would assist Government in addressing insecurity.
The Committee consulted the traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society groups on the State Government plan to re-introduce such areas of revenue generation.
Speakers at the include the Head of Local Government administration of Funtua, Bakori, Danja, Sabuwa, Faskari as well as that of Dandume Local Governments.
SarkinMaskan Katsina, Alhaji Sambo Idris Sambo, Makaman Katsina District Head of Bakori Sule Idris Nadabo advocated for more religious and traditional rulers support to achieve the success.
The State Chairman Miyetti Allah group, Mannir Maidabino said such revenue generation if fully implemented would greatly assist Fulani Herdsmen.
