Special team begins operation to arrest vehicles with no plate number in Katsina
The Katsina State Government through the Board of Internal Revenue has currently embarked on a week-long operation in collaboration with various security agencies to arrest all vehicles owners without number plates in the 34 Local Government Areas of the State.
The exercise which began on Monday 22nd February is expected to last up to Friday 26th February and is to be carried out simultaneously with the metropolis with the help of Federal Roads Safety Corps, FRSC personnel among others stakeholders.
The operation, according to the Board’s Director of Roads Taxes, Alhaji Abbati Yusuf, is to help the government in tackling crimes and criminality as well as improve revenue generation for the state.
“The main aim of this operation is for the government to help the vehicle owners against unwanted theft and in improving the state’s overall security.”
Alhaji Abbati also thanked the vehicle owners in the state for their usual cooperation and also urged them to continue to be law abiding citizens.
Members of the patrol team includes the Police, Civil Defense, Road safety and Vehicle Inspection Officers.
