Commissioner donates drugs, hospital cards to Katsina health centers

The Katsina state Commissioner for Sports and Social Welfare, Hon. Sani Aliyu Danlami, has donated drugs for children to hospitals in the 12 wards of Katsina local government area, Katsina state.

The drugs which include 48 cartons of children Paracetamol syrup, Vitamin C syrup, Septrin syrup and Cough syrup expectorants were given to the hospitals for onward prescription to children of the poor and the needy.

Equally 1,000 hospital cards were also given to each of the 12 hospitals selected from each ward with the exception of Rafindadi hospital that got 2000 cards, to be given free of charge to parents who brought their children for medication.

In his address during the presentation of the presentation, the Commissioner said, different sectors, particularly the health sector, needed the contribution of all instead of government

In his address during the presentation of the presentation, the Commissioner said, different sectors, particularly the health sector, needed the contribution of all instead of government handling everything.

“When you go to these hospitals, especially in the rural communities, you see parents with their children who are sick, but to get even the N100 to buy the hospital card is a problem not to talk of the drugs that will be prescribed.

“I therefore want to call on everyone to give the little they could, so that together we can help in solving some healthcare issues for some of the families with limited means of livelihood,” he said.

In his appreciation on behalf of the benefitting hospitals, the Assistant Director Disease control, Katsina local government, Malam Ahmed Buba, thanked the commissioner for the gesture, saying the drugs procured by the bencfactor were the much needed ones in terms of treating minor sicknesses of the children.

The benefiting hospitals include those of Kwado Maternal and Child Healthcare (MCHC), Dutsen Safe Lowcost Healthcare, Tudun ‘Yan Lihidda MCHC, Gidan Dawa Healthcare and Nasarawa Day healthcare center.

Others are Abattoir Healthcare, Rafindadi MCHC, Unguwar Mannan Dee Healthcare, Kukar Gesa Healthcare, Kofar Durbi Ilealthcare, Shinkafi MDG clinic and Wakilin Arewa I healthcare.
