Katsina gov’t, Helen Keller Int’l commemorate 2021 World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day
Katsina State Ministry of Health in collaboration with Helen Keller International has commemorated the 2020 World Neglect Tropical Diseases Day.
The 30th of January every year is set aside by the World Health Organization to raise awareness on the prevention, detection and treatment of Neglected Tropical Diseases the World over.
The aim of celebrating the World Neglected Tropical Diseases day is to raise awareness on how best to reduce illness caused by such neglected tropical diseases.
Similarly, the day serves as a Forum for the International Community to address the suffering caused by the Neglected Tropical Diseases.
This could be achieved through various initiatives to support the people affected by such diseases.
Engineer Yakubu Nuhu Danja while addressing the press stressed the need for all and sundry to contribute towards preventing such diseases, saying prevention is better than cure.
