34,000 youths benefit from Special Public Work Programme in Katsina
No fewer than a total of 34,000 youths are to be engaged as beneficiaries across the 34 Local Government Areas in the State in the Federal Government initiatives of Special Public Work Programme where at least 1,000 beneficiaries will be drawn per local government.
Governor Aminu Bello masari stated this at the flag off of the extended special public work program of 774,000 jobs at Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Mannir Yakubu said each local government is responsible for identifying it’s preferred project and execution as planned through the programme which is designed to last for three months.
He said that the programme will provide the desired economic palliatives to the 34,000 unemployed youth that will be engaged in the state.
Masari charged all the local governments administration in the state to take responsibility of this programme and ensure timely and efficient execution of all the projects according to specification
He call on the prospective beneficiaries to make good use of this opportunity by putting in their best, as any laxity will not be to tolerated so that at the end of the programme benefitiaries will not only became self employed, but employers of labour.
Katsina Post learnt that the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika flagged-off the programme special public works program in Katsina.
The Special programme initiated by the Federal Government under the National Directorate of Employment, NDE is aimed at creating 34,000 jobs in Katsina State and 774,000 jobs in Nigeria.
