Katsina gov’t introduce 2-dose of measles vaccine
The Katsina State Government, Commissioner for Health, Engr Nuhu Yakubu Danja has today launched the the introduction of the second dose of measles into the routine immunization schedule.
The measles vaccination exercises is scheduled to hold for 5 days from 7th to 11th December, 2020 across the state.
During the flag-off exercise, the Commissioner of Health represented by the Executive Secretary, State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Shamsuddeen Yahaya described measles as a highly infections disease and one of the leading causes of under-five morbidity and mortality especially among unvaccinated children.
Dr Shamsuddeen also call on all mothers and caregivers to take their children to any health care centers in the state for them to receive the measles vaccine and of course other vaccines.
