Katsina gov’t signs MoU with FG for conversion of FMC to Teaching Hospital
Governor Aminu Bello Masari has today signs MoU with the Federal Ministry of Health for upgrading Federal Medical Center (FMC) Katsina to a Federal Teaching Hospital for Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina, Faculty of Medicine take up.
The decision is an aftermath of efforts being made by the Masari’s led Katsina State government to ensure that Ummaru Musa Yar’adu’a University, UMYUK, starts offering medical courses.
This newspaper learns that the state government has attached priority to the introduction of a College of Medical Science at the University since 2016 but for the absence of a befitting teaching hospital to be used by the students.
Findings by our reporter showed that the signing of the MoU took place Tuesday afternoon in Abuja with Gov. Masari signing for Katsina state while Dr. Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire, Minister for Health, signed on behalf of the federal government.
