Katsina disabled persons call on gov’t to establish Disabled Commission
The Katsina State Branch of the Joint Association of Persons Living With Disabilities has called on the state government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari to domesticated the the Rights of the Persons Living With Disabilities act and establish a Commission for the Disabled.
This call was made by the President of the Branch’s Association, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Mashi who also doubled as the Sarkin Makafin Katsina while addressing newsmen to mark the World Day For The Persons Living With Disabilities in Katsina.
While commending the Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s administration for appointing one of them as a Senior Special Assistant on Disabled matters, Alhaji Ahmad also called on the Katsina State government to supply the School of the deaf in Malumfashi with solar system light.
He also called on the state government to rehabilitate and upgrade the schools of the deaf and blinds as well as provide them with modern ICT equipment to aide teaching and learning.
Also among the requests made by the Disabled Persons is for the state government to rehabilitate the six (6) rehabilitation centers across the state and access to market for them.
