ICT training: 1155 people applied for 100 program training slots in Katsina
No fewer than 1155 people applied for the MTN foundation ICT training program earlier advertised by the Katsina State Ministry of Rural Development, Katsina Post learned.
Recall that the ministry earlier advertised that the foundation will train 100 youths on ICT in the State.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development, Hon Mustapha Mahmud Kanti however said that screening committee was put in place and a list of 100 successful applicants was forwarded for the training program.
“We have received a lot of enquiries regarding the MTN foundation ICT training program which was advertised.
“We have received 1155 online applications by the dateline we have announced.
“A Screening Committee was put in place to Screen the applications and a list of 100 applicants was forwarded for the training program.
“As it is in such cases the number of applicants far out weights the number required so not everybody who applies can get it hence the need for understanding and patience.
“We intend to undertake Entreprenuship training for 1000 applicants under the KARIER program we will announce the application process and guidelines by next week so that applications can start and we will continue with efforts and collaborations that will provide opportunities to our youth.
