Katsina Executive Council approves N283bn for 2021 budget
The Katsina State Executive Council in its regular meeting yesterday have ratified and approved the sum of N283bn for 2021 budget, Katsina Post learned.
The council meeting was chaired by the Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari, his Deputy, QS Mannir Yakubu, Secretary to the Government of the State, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa among others.
Shortly after the meeting which lasted for hours in closed-door, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon Farouk Lawal Jobe told newsmen that the proposed budget has over N196bn representing 70% as capital expenditure and over N85bn representing 30% as recurrent expenditure.
In the proposed budget, Hon Farouk Lawal Jobe also said that the sum of N19bn was budgeted for the education sector while N22bn was budgeted for Water Resources sector.
According to him, N20bn was earmarked for Agriculture, N43bn for Works and N27bn for environment sectors.
The budget will be presented to the Katsina State House of Assembly by the Governor in coming days.
