Man arraign before Katsina court for allegedly raping 19-year-old boy
A 35-year-old driver, Ibrahim Garba, of Mairuwa Road, Funtua, Katsina has been remanded in a Katsina police custody over alleged sodomy with a 19-year-old boy, Punch reports.
The victim from the Rafindadi Quarter, Katsina, had lodged a complaint at the Central Police Station, Funtua, that Garba forcefully had anal sexual intercourse with him while he was sleeping at the Sambo Primary School, Funtua.
The police said the incident occurred on July 23, 2020, around 2am.
Garba was arraigned on one count charge of unnatural offence contrary to Section 255 of the Katsina Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, told the Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court, where Garba was arraigned on Wednesday, that investigation was in progress in the case and sought an adjournment to another date when the case could come up for mention.
The presiding magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, granted the prayer and adjourned the case till September 17, 2020, for mention.
She ordered that the suspect be remanded in police custody till the adjourned date.
