Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado in Katsina for a working visit

Governor Aminu Bello Masari has asked traditional rulers as custodians of people to brace up and contribute to solving the myriads of problems bedeviling the people.

Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari made this appeal when he received the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who paid him a courtesy call at government house, Katsina.

The Governor explained that traditional rulers have a formidable chain of authority in the past, which was eroded by the 1976 local government reform in the country.

Alhaji Aminu Masari told the Emir that efforts were on by the present APC administration to restore the old long ward, village and District security councils to help crime and criminality in the state.

On the visit, the Governor recalled that the relationship between Katsina and Kano had surpassed hundred of years with the people having the same religious beliefs, tribe and other similarities.

He recollected that the Emir of Kano’s house in Katsina aged over living mortals in the two Emirates, saying that the present generation woke up to saw the house as it is.

Governor Masari noted that the visit by the Emir of Kano would further cement the existing ties between the people of the two Emirates.

He reminded the Emir that as the world turns to global village, the visit would allow for exchange of ideas on issues affecting the well being of people in the two Emirates.

He said that the situation caused by insecurity and Covid 19 calls for sober reflection to find out where as a people the problems started with a view to finding solutions.

He said that the phenomenal rise in Rape, armed robbery, kidnappings and banditry needed the attention of traditional rulers to nip in the bud especially activities of informants.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero told Governor Masari that he was in Katsina to solidify the bond of relationship between the people of the two Emirates.

Alhaji Aminu Bayero explained that if not for some modern damercations, Katsina and Kano people could not be discern, stressing that whatever happened to a Kano man naturally affects a Katsina person.

Alhaji Aminu Bayero expressed sympathy over the insecurity in Katsina state, adding that the people of Kano have been praying fervently for Allah-SWA to end the twin problems of insecurity and Covid-19.

The Emir prayed for the bond of brotherhood between Kanawa and Katsinawa to continue to persist till eternity.

Alhaji Aminu Bayero expressed gratitude to Governor Masari for the execution of meaningful projects that would benefit the citizens of the state.

He also expressed gratitude to the Emir of Katsina and Katsina state government for the warm reception accorded to him during the visit.

He particularly condoled with the governor over the demise of an illustrious son of the state, Alhaji Wada Maida and the people that lost their lives in the twin problems of banditry and Covid-19 pandemic.
