COVID-19 outbreak hits Katsina State CID inmates
No fewer than 87 people in detention in the Katsina State CID tested positive for the dreaded COVID-19 infection, Katsina Post learned.
This was disclosed by the Katsina State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Kabir Mustapha while giving update on the nobel viral infection in state during a meeting called by the Katsina State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari with the labor leaders to discuss the twin problems of the pandemic and insecurity affecting the state.
Dr. Kabir Mustapha who said that the disease is still in Katsina State, urged the labor leaders to continue sensitizing their members on the importance of observing social distancing, wearing of face masks and other advises by health authorities.
“Katsina State now is the 10th state with the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in Nigeria with 551 cases as at Monday with 23 deaths and 368 recoveries.”
Dr Kabir Mustapha also said that Katsina Local Government Area is having the highest number of infected people in the state with 344 cases and Daura Local Government Area being second with 84 cases.
Also, Dr Kabir Mustapha said 28 LGAs in Katsina State were affected with the viral infection with at least one case.
