Group demand for information of funds donated to Katsina COVID-19 Task Force C’ttee
Group of concerned citizens in Katsina State under the umbrella of a non-governmental organization, Citizens Participation Against Corruption Initiative (CPACI) has written to the Katsina State Task Force Committee on COVID-19 demanding for information surrounding donations they received on behalf of the State Government.
In a letter signed by the group’s Executive Director, Comrade Bishir Dauda Sabuwar Unguwa dated 14th April, 2020 and seen by Katsina Post, the group requested for information on all funds received by the committee from either Federal Government, State Government, Local Government, private sector and individuals.
The group also requested for the detailed financial expenditure incurred by the committee in the fight against Corona Virus in the State as well as detailed breakdown of relief material and medical items distributed by the committee or used in fighting covid-19 in Katsina State.
The letter, which was addressed to the Chairman of the Katsina State Task Force Committee on COVID-19 and the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, QS Mannir Yakubu also stated that the group need the information within one week as stipulated in the Freedom of Information Act 2011.
