Katsina State Gov’t begins headcount of Almajiri pupils
The Katsina State Government has embarked on the headcount of pupils at the Almajiri (Arabic) schools across the state to obtain accurate data needed for its planned special feeding programme.
The Chairman of Katsina Chapter of Maj’ma’u Durqis Sufiyya, Sheikh Abubakar Charanchi, disclosed this in a statement in Katsina on Monday.
Charanchi explained that the feeding would cover only pupils that came from various villages in search of Quranic knowledge.
He said that government would also inculcate Western education with the Qu’anic education by teaching the pupils English Language and Arithmetic on Thursdays and Fridays.
