Katsina lawmaker calls for FG’s intervention on 19 communities ravaged by erosion
The member representing Dutsin-ma/Kurfi federal constituency, Honorable Armaya’u Abdulkadir has presented yet another motion on the floor of the Green Chamber calling on Federal Government to bring succur to no fewer than 19 communities ravaged by erosion in his constituency.
The communities affected, according to the lawmaker are Kurfi, Kaware, Tsauri, Birchi, Barkiya, Wurma, Rawayau, Dogon Ruwa, Kurecin Fulani, Kurecin Giye, Gangaren Wakaji, Wakaji, Cediya Tara, Dage Lawai, Tsawa-Tsawa, Karofi, Jaka, Kunduwa and Dangawo.
The Lawmaker while presenting the motion also called on the House to urge the Ecological Fund office to carry out an immediate assessment of the communities affected by erosion in order to know the level of damage in each community.
He also urged the Federal Government and the Ecological Fund office to render to the farmers and people affected by erosion in the communities.
He also urged the House to ask the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Fund office to take necessary measures to control the erosion ravaging the various communities as well as mandate the communities of the House on Ecological Fund and Environment to ensure implemwntation.
