Katsina State gets a multi-million 100-bed modern children hospital in Daura

A foundation, The Belema Oil Foundation, has began the construction of a 100-bed children hospital in Daura, the home town of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State.

The hospital, when completed would accommodate 100 beds, two theaters, ambulances, solar power, and modern hospital facilities and equipment.

The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Mr Jack Rich, supported by Gov. Aminu Masari and Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, laid the foundation for the new hospital on Saturday.

The event attracted government officials, health professionals, community and religious leaders, as well as security personnel and the general public.

While speaking shortly before the laying of the foundation of the hospital, Mr Jack Rich said the greatest thing anyone can do for the children and their mothers is to provide modern hospital and and other health services to cater for them and ensure their healthy growth.

He also urged Nigerians to love themselves irrespective of religion and ethnicity wherever they found themselves.

In his remarks, Gov. Masari congratulated the entire people of the state for the project, which was meant to enhance access to quality healthcare services, especially for women and children.

The governor expressed appreciation to the philanthropist, Mr Rich, for the gesture, which would impact positively on the lives of millions of children.

“For a better tomorrow, we must invest today in the health of our children as the future belongs to them,” he stressed.

The governor also commended former minister and Dan Masanin Daura, Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura, who donated the plot land for the project.
