N11bn fraud: Court adjourned EFCC’s case against Shema indefinitely over judge’s death
The court case against Katsina State ex-Governor Ibrahim Shema and three others filled before the Katsina State High Court by the Economic Financial and Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been adjourned indefinitely, Katsina Post learned.
This was communicated to the accused persons on Monday the 27th of January 2020 by the court’s Registrar when the former presented them themselves to the court for the continuation of their trial.
Katsina Post also learned that the decision of the court to adjourned the trial is because of the death of the judge presiding over the case, Justice Maikaita Ibrahim Bako earlier this month.
Recall that Katsina State ex-Governor Ibrahim Shema and three others are being under trial for the alleged mismanagement of over N11bn Local Governments fund in the last days of his administration.
