LG autonomy: Katsina sacked LGAs chairmen dragged Masari to FG over none compliance
The Katsina state chapter of ALGON has written to the Honorable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Alhaji Abubakar Malami, SAN seeking his intervention over the refusal of the state Governor HE Aminu Bello Masari to comply with the directive of the AGF to reinstate unlawfully dissolved democratically elected local government council of the state.
It could be recalled that the state Governor unlawfully dissolved democratically elected local government council by a notice of dissolution dated 10th July 2015 and consequently replacing them with caretaker committees.
The association lamented the vacuum created by this act which has given way for the local government being run unlawfully as at today by heads of local government administration (HLGA)
In a letter dated 20th January 2020 signed by its chairman Hon Ibrahim Lawal Dankaba praying the urgent intervention of the Honorable Attorney General of the Federation, Hon. Lawal Dankaba decry the deterioration of economic, social and security wellbeing of the state blaming it on the lapse created by the absence of the third tier of government as enshrined in section 7(1) of the 1999 constitution (as amended) thereby breaching the section.
