El-Rufai Appoints Garba Rimi from Katsina As Head Traffic Enforcement Agency
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the appointment of Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (rtd) as the head of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA).
The governor made this known in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye on Tuesday.
Katsina Post checks revealed that Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (rtd) is from Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
He also contested for the Batagarawa/Rimi/Charanchi Federal Constituency ticket of the All Progressive Congress for the 2019 General election but lost the contest to Hon. Hamza Dalhatu Batagarawa.
The statement added that the appointment of retired Major Garba Yahaya Rimi as the new General Manager of KASTLEA becomes effective immediately.
Prior to his appointment, Major Rimi (rtd) was the Assistant General Manager (Security and Enforcement) at the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company.
The new General Manager of KASTLEA also served as the Chairman of the Security Directorate of the Malam Nasir El-Rufai Campaign Committee in 2014, before becoming the Secretary of the Directorate of General Purpose in 2015.
From 2015 to 2019, Major Rimi (rtd) was Chief Security Officer of the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company. During the 2019 campaign, he also served as Secretary of the Security Sub-Committee of the Kaduna APC Campaign Committee.
