Katsina gov’t acquires 670 hectares of land for textile project in Funtua
The Katsina State Government has secured 670 hectares of land for the Funtua garment and textile cluster project.
Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu said in Abuja yesterday when he visited the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Maryam Yelwaji Katagum.
The deputy governor, who said modalities had been laid for increased cotton production in the state, sought local patronage of the product.
In his remarks, the minister described the textile cluster project as a priority to the federal government.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor was yesterday at the national headquarter of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency on an advocacy visit on the development of SMEs in the state.
He called on SMEDAN Director-General, Umar Dikko Radda, to include Katsina in its entrepreneurship development projects.
Radda pledged to conduct more entrepreneurship training for people in Katsina State.
