The officers of the Nigeria Immigration Services on duty at Farin Gida check point along Daura – Kongolam road have succeeded in the arrest of two foreigners suspected to be criminals on their way out of the country.

This was disclosed to newsmen including Katsina Post by the Katsina State Immigration Comptroller, Bin Umar Yakubku Ahmed in his office before parading the suspects.

According to him, his men on duty tried to stopped the due for routine search but they tried to escape.

He added that the officers on seeing that, trailed them and engaged them which led to the shooting of one of them on the leg.

The suspects are Mohammed Abdullahi 25 from Gadori, Damagaram region and Dadi from Tasawa region all of Niger Republic and a pistol, empty bullet cartridge, many computers and handsets as well as numerous charms were recovered from them.

Briefing news men, the state Immigration Comptroller, Bin Umar Yakubku Ahmed said the duo were stopped around Koza Farin Gida area at an immigration post but they tried to evade arrest on their motorcycle which made officers on duty suspicious.

The State Immigration Comptroller also said that they will hand the arrested suspected criminals over to the police for further investigation and assured that the immigration service will continue to be steadfast in carrying out its duties along the border routes of the country.
