Katsina state transport authority add new bus to its fleet
The Katsina State Governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has commissioned an additional Toyota bus purchased by Katsina state transport authority (KTSTA).
This is according to Hassan Muhammad Tukur of Katsina Government house press centre.
Speaking shortly after inspecting the new vehicle, Governor Aminu Bello Masari charged officials of KTSTA to consider deploying some vehicles for students transportation as being done by the authority in the past.
The Governor requested to know the extent of the debt incurred by the authority to which the General Manager of the authority explained that 19 million naira out of the over forty million naira had been settled so far by the new management.
Alhaji Aminu Masari also sought to know the status of Marcpolo lorry vehicles in the fleet of the authority to which the General Manager answered that out of the eight lorries, the new management had rehabilitated six and place them on distant routes.
Alhaji Haruna Musa Rugoji told Governor Masari that the Marcpolo lorry vehicles were responsible for greater percentage of the revenue accruing to the authority.
The Governor directed for the new vehicle to be put on the road.
The General Manager later showered encomiums on the Governor for the support being rendered to the authority to enable it operate above minimum standards.
