Police arrest 2 for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man in Dutsin-ma
A senior Magistrate Court in Katsina has remanded two men all from Dutsin-ma Local Government Area of Katsina State namely Kamala Mamuda and Abdullahi Sadiku, both aged 20 in prison, suspected to have killed a 25-year-old man, Amadu Bala.
According to the First police report, the accused persons had on May 10, 2019, deceived the deceased into believing that his girlfriend was waiting for him on the Shantalawa Road.
They allegedly ambushed him and attacked him with a pestle on his head as he came to keep the ‘false’ appointment.
The victim, who sustained serious injuries, died on the way to the Dutsinma General Hospital, where he was being rushed to for treatment by good Samaritans.
He was certified dead on arrival at the hospital and his remains were buried according to Islamic rites.
The police have yet to make public the possible motive of the suspects in carrying out the attack.
Mamuda and Sadiku have been charged with criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code Law.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, told the Senior Magistrates’ Court where the two were arraigned that investigation was still in progress on the case.
He sought an adjournment to enable the police to conclude the investigation.
The Senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, adjourned the case till July 8, 2019, for mention and directed that the suspects be remanded in prison till then.
