Breaking: Katsina Emirate suspends Sallah durbar to commiserate with victims of bandits
The Katsina Emirate Council headed by the Emir of Katsina has announced the suspension of all Sallah celebrations including the durbar popularly known as ‘Hawan Sallah’ and Hawan Bariki.
This is contained in a statement dated the 24th May 2019 and signed by the Secretary of the Emirate council and Sallaman Katsina, Alhaji Bello Mamman Ifo and made available to newsmen.
This, according to the statement is to commiserate with the victims of armed banditry in some of the Local Governments in the emirate like Dan-Musa, Jibia, Kankara, Batsari and the rest.
However, the statement said that prayers will be said for the sustenance of peace in the state after the Eid-elfitr as usual.
Recal that the state government had earlier took similar decision where they cancelled all celebrations earlier lined-up for the swearing in of the Governor Aminu Bello Masari for the Second term due to insecurity.
