Just In: Late night fire burnt part of Ummaru Musa ‘Yaradua University
A mysterious late night fireoon Sunday gutted some section of faculty of education gutted by fire at Umar Musa Yar’adua university, Katsina Post can authoritatively reports.
Though up to the time of filing in this report the university management is yet to issue any statement to that regard, our reporter gathered that the unfortunate incident started around 10pm on Sunday and it took a while before it was partly quenched by the university’s securities and students that were around.
The fire according to our reporter razed the office of head of library and information science department in the faculty.
Other offices damaged completely by the inferno include the examination office and some lecturers rooms.
The actual cause of the inferno is yet to be disclosed by the university management.
The Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has inspected the section of the building destroyed by the fire this afternoon.
Alhaji Aminu Masari was accompanied by the state Deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu and the special Adviser on Higher Education, Alhaji Bashir Ruwan Godiya.
As at the time of the Governor’s visit, some of the documents in the examination office were still emitting smoke according to Hassan Muhammad Tukur who is a director in Press Center, Katsina State government House.
