Breaking: Police arrest 4 people supplying petrol to kidnappers in Katsina 

Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in the arrest of no fewer than for suspected criminals supplying petroleum products to kidnappers.

This is contained in a statement signed by the police public relations officer, SP Gambo Isa and made available to newsmen including Katsina Post.

Part of the statement reads:

“It can be recalled that, in our efforts at curbing the menace of banditry in the eight frontline LGAs of Katsina state; on 14th January, 2019, the Katsina state government issued a law banning the sale of petroleum products in jerricans in these Local Government areas.

Consequently, on 28/03/2019 and 01/04/2019, based on tip off, the Command succeeded in carrying out intelligence-led raids at Batsari and Dutsinma LGAs of Katsina state which led to the arrest of suspects, who specialize in sales, distribution and supply of petroleum products to bandits in these areas. They are:

Zaharadeen Mas’udu, ‘m’, aged of Unguwar Alkali Quarters, Katsina

Ibrahim Khalid. ‘m’, aged 28yrs of Sabon Gida Quarters, Katsina

Najib Dayyabu, ‘m’, aged 17yrs of Unguwar Sarki, Batsari LGA of Katsina state

Halliru Yarima ‘m’,aged 30yrs of Unguwar Yarima Quarters, Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state

Exhibits Recovered from the suspects include Thirty-three (33) jerricans of petrol and Twenty-four (24) empty jerricans.
