Insecurity: Masari boosts Katsina security with 10 hilux trucks

The Katsina State government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari has spent a whopping sum of N181 million for the purchase of 10 hilux vehicles to further re enforced the fight against the incesent insecurity, kidnapping and banditry in the state especially in the 10 most affected local government areas.

The state governor, who was represented by his commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy affairs, Abdulkadir Ahmed Zakka, made this disclosure in Katsina yesterday at the distribution of the vehicles to the caretaker committee chairmen of the affected LGAs.

The LGAs that benefitted from the gesture includes Jibiya, Batsari, Safana, Dutsin-ma, Kankara, Funtua, Faskari, Dandume and Sabuwa local government areas.

Masari said the intervention is a further indication of his administration’s readiness to continue to support the war against insecurity in the areas sharing borders with Zamfara State and ensure the safety of lives and property across Katsina.

According to him, the government was weighing further intervention in terms of more logistics support to checkmate the criminal elements in not only the front line local government areas but also other areas of the state.

He also revealed that the general maintenance of the vehicles would be the responsibility of the benefiting local government areas and enjoined security personnel to use the intervention judiciously to foster much needed peace and security.

Speaking on behalf of the state chapter of ALGON, Mallam Lawal Funtua, who is also the care taker committee chairman of Funtua, lauded Masari’s determination to tackle the security challenges in parts of the state, while pledging their unalloyed commitment to complement his efforts.
