According to the latter, there are no less than 7 pending suits before the various high courts challenging the illegality of the present set of executives at the wards, Local government areas and state levels of the of the APC in the state.
The letter also stated that, they are already in court challenging the constitutional legitimacy of the present executives of the party who constitute the delegates for indirect elections at the primaries.
And the suits are still pending before the High courts, Federal High Court and court of appeal.
More so, the aspirants also accused the committee of breaching electoral statutory of APC and abuse of electoral guidelines for primary election.
” Refers to our meeting as the two governorship aspirants, with you today at 12:45pm at bayajidda road, G.R.A Katsina, wherein we articulated our concerns to you and your teem for the breaches of both APC constitution and the guidelines for the conduct of primaries already committed by the members of your teem in the ongoing exercise.
“We feel it is important to communicate to you formally of these breaches and violation of the electoral act, the APC constitution and the guidelines for the conduct of these primaries.” It stated.
The two governorship aspirants insisted that they are legitimate stakeholders in the party and deserved to be consulted in the decision making of the APC in the party.
“As governorship aspirants we are legitimate stakeholders in the APC Katsina State and ought to be consulted in whatever decision the stakeholders may arrive at, but we were neither consulted nor informed of the decision to go in for direct primaries.
Consequently no notice to the effect was served on us therefore our delegates and agents could not trace the venue for accreditation and election.” They added.
Moreover, the aspirants alleged the incumbent government of Rt. Aminu Bello Masari of chartering a flight for the electoral committee and also the committee for branching at government house while the governor is among the contestants.
“Your committee arrived at Katsina in the night of 29/9/2018/ on a chattered flight allegedly provided by the state governor. You went straight to the government house, met with the governor who is one of the aspirants, and member of his government. You did not invite us to the usual stakeholders meeting, and you did not meet us until today 309/2018 by 12:30pm.
At the meeting you informed us that you have finished screening of delegates and were to start voting. All these sets of facts cast serious doubt on the impartiality of your committee.” The paper stated.
Finally, the aspirants put the culled points of breaching Electoral act, the APC constitution, the guidelines for the conduct of primaries and urged the electoral committee to rectify the misconduct before it is too late.
It could be recalled that All Progressive Congress APC, conducted it’s gubernatorial primaries on 30th, September, 2018. Where Rt. Honourable Aminu Bello Masari emerged as the supreme winner with over 5,000 votes.
