Live update as Masari, 2 others battles for Katsina APC gubernatorial ticket
The All Progressives Congress (APC), is today going to conduct primary elections for Governor Aminu Bello Masari and two other aspirants for the party’s ticket in the coming 2019 general elections.
It could be recalled that we reported to you that the All Progressives Congress has cleared the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari and two others to contest for the party’s gubernatorial ticket on Sunday 30th September, 2018.
This was contained in a statement signed by the acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja, on Friday.
Those who were cleared to contest for the ticket together with the Governor in Katsina State are Abubakar Samaila Isah Funtua and Garba Sani Dankani.
The party also cleared Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, his Kano and Kebbi States’ counterparts, Abdullahi Ganduje and Abubakar Bagudu respectively, to run as sole aspirants.
While El-Rufai and Ganduje had no challengers, Bagudu’s only challenger was disqualified.
Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru, has one challenger, Alhaji Hashim Ubale, to contend with.
Four aspirants will be slugging it out in Sokoto State, while eight contestants will struggle with Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s anointed candidate in Zamfara State.
