Over 100 coalition and representative of youth’s organization, Civil Societies and Social Media groups in Katsina State has on Saturday, issues three concrete demands to senators, and members representing the state at the National Assembly.
The coalition also frowned upon any move or attempt by the Nigerian lawmakers that appeared to threaten Buhari’s stay in office.
Speaking on the development on Saturday, Comrade Muhammad Rumah, the leader of Youth Enlightenment and Social Justice Foundation (YESJUF)- at a press briefing after the joint session, warned: a matter of urgency “All Senators and Reps in the state distance themselves from any move against President Muhammadu Buhari.”
He also demands that the lawmakers in the state should make their position very clear in terms of support to President Muhammadu Buhari.”
“The Katsina lawmakers should make their position very clear in terms of support to Buhari’s administration in all its ramifications and support him to address all challenges therein.”
“They should also continue to show their total support to this administration since its all from his public support they hung and won their elections.”
While speaking, the spokesperson of the group, Mustapha Shehu revealed that President Buhari is doing his best in ensuring increased security, economic growth employment opportunities as indicators National development.
“We gathered ourselves with collaboration of over 100 groups in the state in order to show our support to President Muhammadu Buhari.”
“We will not allow anybody to touch the integrity of the president and that’s the aim of this group.”
Shehu, however, said coalition was not in support of any attempt to remove the president, noting: “Many of us were not in support of that resolution because many of us are not in support of threatening the president.
“Even though our gathering is irrespective of political party. We gathered to fight any attempt to fight social justice.”
“President Buhari’s fighting against corruption must not be intimidated by few people who are being paid by doing nothing.”
“We wish to reaffirm our support for Mr. President as he works assiduously towards dealing with the challenges of our country.
“We casted our votes knowing fully well that, it goes to give support to President Muhammadu Buhari in his quest to bring our country back to track for National development.”
The group, however, reiterated all the necessary support to President Buhari he requires to move Nigeria forward.
