Nigerian Metrological agency have forecasted that Katsina State will experience low rainfall and an early stop of rain in this year’s raining season.
The Director General of the Agency Professor Sani Abubakar Mashi stated this during the highlight of the 2018 seasonal rainfall and weather forecast held at the conference hall of the State Secretariat.
According to him, there would also be dry spaces in-between while also saying that the season will last for 120 days.
The Director therefore advised farmers in the State to take necessary measures so as not to be affected adversely.
Further breakdown of the highlight as presented by the DG revealed that the southern part of the State comprising the Funtua Zone would get 700 cubic metres of rain as against 800 cubic metres last year.
The northern part of the state comprising the Katsina and Daura Zone would get 500 cubic metres of rain as against 600 cubic metres experienced last year.
