
Katsina Assembly conducts public hearing on State Security and Road Traffic Authority, KASROTA bill
About 63 memoranda have been received by Katsina state House of Assembly during its just-concluded Public Hearing on a bill for the establishment of the State Security and Road Traffic Authority ( KASROTA), Daily Trust revealed.
Speaking at the hearing, The speaker, Abubakar Kusada the assembly can no longer fold its arms to allow motorist and other road users to continue to disobey traffic rules.
He assured that the house will as soon as possible pending the outcome of the public hearing to enable ascent of the governor.
In his remarks, chairman of the committee Abubakar Abukur said already the committee had undertaken a tour to Kano and it’s similar KAROTA agency with a view to formalizing such in the state noting that ‘ about 17 states have already established such agency’.
In a related development, the bill for amendment of sharia court law and judicial service commission sponsored by Deputy Speaker, Dalhatu Tafoki has been referred to justice and judiciary committee to work on returning to the assembly within the next three weeks.
