Fuel Scarcity: Yar’adua more strategic than Buhari- Dr. Ahmed Adamu

0

Dr. Ahmed Adamu, The pioneer chairperson of commonwealth youths council, has ascribed the ongoing scarcity of petroleum products in Nigeria to the inability to Buhari led-government to adopt Late Ya’ardua’s strategy in providing the lasting solution.

The former chairperson made the observation in a live radio program in Katsina “Babbar Magana” yesterday.

Ahmed urged Buhari to stop blaming, follow the footstep of Late Yar’adua by releasing fuel for the consumption of Nigerians.

“What Yar’adua did when independent oil marketers hoarded the product was hiring the filling station by the government and selling the product on official price.

“Most of the independent marketers then signed an agreement with the government which results ‘not only making the product available to Nigerians but also reduce the product price to N65 per liter.

“This shows a leader must act reasonably to address a problem instead of blaming others for his failure.

“Late Yar’adua never blame anybody including the independent marketers that hoarded the product but choose to act accordingly.

He urged president Buhari to accept the responsibility as a leader, act progressively so that Nigerians could purchase the product at the government approved and regulated price of ₦145 per liter.
