The Katsina State Chapter of the opposition Party, PDP led by Alhaji Yusuf Majigiri has accused the government of Katsina State under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari for allegedly blowing up N400bn since its inception.
This he alleged can not be justified by any project on ground except painting of schools and public buildings earlier constructed under their party during the 16 years it ruled the state.
The Chairman, Alhaji Majigiri stated this last Saturday during during the inauguration of four standing committees over the weekend, the PDP chairman, Salisu Majigiri said APC’s two years administration has reversed PDP’s development efforts of 16 years, saying it lacks the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
According to him: “They have collected over N328 billion as allocation to the state and N77.7 billion as loans since 2015. Sum it together, it is over N400 billion. What it means is that if we are to repay the loans in three years, every citizen of Katsina including those unborn will have to pay N7,000 each.”
“We are not going forward in Katsina. We are going backward. Look at what happened during the so-called 30th anniversary celebration of the state. While Akwa-Ibom State (also created in 1987) was busy commissioning new projects, Katsina was busy calling local musicians to come and dance.” He stated.
