KATSINA POST learnt that the National Qur’anic recitation competition will begins on the Sunday 1st October, 2017.
It could be recalled that the Katsina State Government has resolved to host the upcoming 2017 National Qu’anic Recitation Competition. The State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari disclosed this during the closing ceremony of the 2016 state’s level of the competition held at the State’s Pilgrims welfare Board.
The Governor, who was represented by the commissioner of Religious Affairs -Alhaji Tanimu Audi Bindawa stated that he his satisfied with the maturity and professionalism exhibited by both the competitors and the organisers throughout the competition.
Also speaking, the representative of the Commissioner on Religious affairs, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Alhaji Lawal Matazu said the current administration is committed towards the propagation of the Islamic religion in the state.
Earlier, the Executive Director, Islamic Education Bureau Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Almajir, stated that 125 people participated in the competition from the 34 LGAs of the state.
Highlight of the occasion includes the turbaning of the winners as Sarkin karatu and Alaramma of Katsina by the representative of the Katsina Emirate Emir. Gifts and cups were also given to some of the winners.
