The senate of the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) has yesterday Friday, 2nd of June 2017 ordered all students of the university to vacate and proceed home until further notice.
KATSINA POST learnt that this was contained in an internal memo from the chairman of the school senate and signed by the university’s Acting Vice Chancellor Prof A. H. Bichi.
It was stated in the memo that the decision to close the university was after the 10th Emergency meeting of the senate which reviewed the security situation in the university.
However, earlier on, a court interim order was served on the 31st of May, 2017 by the Katsina federal high court ordering the University to retain status quo and reinstated the earlier suspended VC Professor Haruna Kaita to his post.
In the interim order, the court also ordered that all panel meeting for investigating and trying criminal allegation labelled against Professor Kaita must be stopped.
It could be recalled that the University governing council had earlier on suspended the VC over some allegations on financial misconduct and breach of university’s rules and regulations.
