Katsina state government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari to begins feeding of primary school feeding program soon.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Girl-Child Education Hajiya Binta Abba Umar during a media chat with news men in Katsina State capital.
According to her, the first batch of the programme will cover only Primary 1-3 while the second batch will cover 4-6.
The Special Adviser therefore advised parents to enrol their children in schools especially women and desist from sending them to hawk on the street in order for them to become useful members of the society.
You may also recall that the Katsina State House of Assembly has deliberated on a motion calling on the state government to consider paying allowances to Islamiyya and Allo schools in the state.
The sponsor of the motion Alhaji Bishir Mamman TDutsin-ma) said the teachers of the schools contributed immensely to the success of the current administration through constant prayers in addition to the shaping of the morality of their students and the state’s next generation and hence deserve to be ‘compensated’.
Honourable Bishir Maman then further emphasised that giving them incentives will further boost their moral and also called for the government to provide decent accommodation, health care services as well as clean water and toilets to save them from diseases associated with unhygienic environment.
