Finally, the Katsina State House of assembly has finished budget defence by the various Ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state. This was disclosed by the Chairman House committee on appropriation and also member representing Katsina local government, Hon. Hambali Faruk.
Hon. Hambali Faruk while closing the budget defence stressed the need for the various MDAs to intensify efforts towards revenue generation as over dependence on Federal allocation will not do any good to the state. He also advised the executive arm to intensify efforts in the exploitation of natural mineral resources and harness it for effective revenue generation.
It could be recalled that KATSINA POST reported earlier in January that The Katsina State House of Assembly says it will pass the state’s 2017 appropriation bill into law within three weeks.
The House leader, Hambali Farouq, who is also the Chairman, House Appropriation Committee, said this on Friday shortly after presiding over a public hearing on the budget estimate.
Governor Aminu Masari had, a fortnight ago, presented the state’s 2017 budget estimate of N140, 162,092,690 to the House. The budget estimate is made up of capital expenditure of N92, 431,781,330 and recurrent expenditure of N47, 730,311,360.
