Katsina State House of Assembly has proposed for employment of additional staff in some of its departments in 2017 fiscal year.
The Clerk of the House, Alhaji Muhammad Gidado made this known while depending over N1bn recurrent expenditure of the House before the appropriation Committee of the House being chaired by Hon. Hambali Faruk -Member representing Katsina Local Government in the house.
The Clerk of the House also stated that some departments of the house of assembly like Legal, Research and Statistics, Legislative and Finance are facing challenges of man power shortage. According to him, this shortage at one time forced the Legislative department to assigned some staff from other departments to serve as secretaries of some committees.
According to Alhaji Muhammad Gidado, he said that another department which goes by the nama ‘Public Account’ is going to be opened this year and as such needs staff to run it.
It could be recalled that KATSINA POST has earlier reported that Katsina State Sharia court of Appeal is to spend N160million on capital project in the 2017 fiscal year.
This was revealed by the Katsina state’s chief registrar of the Katsina state Sharia court of Appeal. He stated that N50million is to be use in the renovation of the house of the state’s Grand Khadi while the purchase of exotic vehicles for the (3) three state’s Khadis and generators will gulp N60million and N12million respectively.
Also before the Katsina state House of assembly was the Chief registrar of the state high court Justice Kabir Shu’aibu who depended the court’s capital allocation of N370million. Justice Kabir further stated that N75million was set aside for purchase of vehicles while the construction of a new magistrate court will gulp N60million so also the construction of official residence for High court judges will gulp N40million.
