APC wanted to lure me with ministerial, deputy governor offers in 2015 – Tata

The 2015 gubernatorial candidate of APGA in Katsina State, Abdullahi  Umar Tsauri, popularly known as “Tata” yesterday rejoined the PDP saying he turned down mouthwatering offers from the APC. Tsauri left the PDP in protest in 2015, shortly after the party’s gubernatorial primary election and moved to APGA to become its flag bearer.

Both him and the PDP candidate, Musa Nashuni, said to be the preferred candidate of ex-Governor Ibrahim Shema, were defeated by APCs Aminu Bello Masari who emerged governor.

Tsauri said within the time under review, he had turned down overtures from the ruling APC, including ministerial and deputy governorship positions in order to lure him.

Speaking at a reception to usher him into the PDP, Tata also used the occasion to announce that there was no grudge between him and Shema.

“Shema is our leader and attack on Shema is attack on all of us. I have no grudge against or any other person. I have forgiven all and ready to work with all to take the PDP to greater heights.

“My past mistake of not carrying party leadership along was in error and I have since realised it and therefore extend my hands to them this time to lead us,” he said.
